East Austin College Prep (EAPrep) works to prepare students to become well-rounded, knowledgeable citizens, who are involved not only in their community, but also in the world. This is my second year as principal and I am very enthusiastic to see this program grow. I have been involved in public education for nine years, working first in Waco ISD, and then moving to Austin ISD, but feel as if I have found my true home at EAPrep. The college-focused model, in conjunction with service learning, places responsibility on the students to set high expectations for themselves academically, and philanthropically. I believe this is the way to experience the most success from our students, now and in the future.

The children--our students--are the future of the East Austin community and beyond. As a faculty, we realize this importance and work diligently to foster the building of positive, supportive relationships, in a culture of academic excellence. Every level of faculty at EAPrep works as a team focused on the achievement of our students, realizing that success will show its face in many different forms, but continuing to push all towards the ultimate goal of a college career.

As we work to achieve these goals, we realize that we cannot meet them alone. We understand the importance of our strong partnerships with businesses, non-profit organizations, community members, and families. The students’ educational experience is made complete with the assistance of these outlets.

Our Parent Academy provides a direct link between our campus and parental support. Knowing that parents have taken the extra step, by not only filling out the application for their children to attend school, but also by personally joining the Parent Academy to receive valuable resources and further their knowledge, we recognize the faculty, parents, and community have the same goal: provide the children with a strong education, which will lead to a successful future.

We are looking forward to a year filled with individual growth, learning, team-building, and success!
