EAPrep students

EAPrep doesn’t just get students excited to attend college. It prepares them with the academic and social skills necessary to survive in the university environment and beyond. That means a strong foundation in math and science and a comprehensive extracurricular program that includes visual and performing arts, as well as athletics and community service.

STEAM SUMMER INSTITUTE
Along with our regular STEAM-focused academic curriculum, our innovative 8-week summer camp rotates students through the day between robotics, outdoor recreation, computer lab, arts and crafts, and various special events and field trips to get them excited about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). 

AUSTIN SOUNDWAVES MUSIC PROGRAM
EAPrep is the only school in Austin to host the world-renowned youth orchestra known as El Sistema. Our students receive free music lessons and instruments and study under a formally trained El Sistema instructor through Austin Soundwaves.

ACE AFTERSCHOOL
ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) in partnership with East Austin College Prep and the Boys & Girls Club at our Southwest Key and MLK campuses offers academically driven programming in your child’s afterschool program for grades Pre-K-5. Not just your typical afterschool program, we are breaking the mold by offering exciting activities with an intense focus on academics and education!

GRADPOINT
Gradpoint is a comprehensive, online program used at East Austin College Prep for high school credit recovery and supplemental support. High school students needing credit recovery can be recommended for Gradpoint by their school counselor and with approval of the school principal.

CAREER CRUISING
Career Cruising is a self-exploration and planning program that helps people of all ages achieve their potential in school, career and life.

PARENT UNIVERSITY / ACADEMIA DE PADRES
Our Academia de Padres/Parent Academy engages parents in every aspect of their child’s education plus offers adult education opportunities in GED, ESL, college, and career development. Workshops are held in health, wellness, and parenting issues. And parents are also connected to local resources and community-based supports. 

EAST AUSTIN CHILDREN'S PROMISE
With $2.5 million Full Service Community Schools grant from the U.S. Department of Education, EAPrep supports student success far beyond the classroom with wraparound services to meet ht needs of the whole family and revitalize the neighborhood.

CULTURAL & PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMS
EAPrep also boasts an engaging arts program with painting, drawing, dance, music, folkloric arts, spoken word instruction, theatrical performance.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
FREE and open until 8:00pm every week day and on school holidays!

SPORTS, HEALTH & NUTRITION 
Students at EAPrep have a wide variety of athletic activities to choose from including soccer, volleyball, running and fitness and cheer leading. Students and parents have access to high-tech equipment, regular fitness events, daily classroom physical activity breaks, and nutrition programs.

COLLEGE PREP
Our students tour colleges throughout the year, attend college fairs and receive mentoring and individualized support with college applications, financial aid and test prep.

FIELD TRIPS
At EAPrep the world is our classroom, so we incorporate frequent field trips into the curriculum to allow our students to get a taste of life outside East Austin. 

SERVICE LEARNING
Giving to the community is required coursework for our students. Each one is required to spend one Saturday a month participating in community service projects, instilling in them a lifelong habit of philanthropic involvement.
