About Globaloria

Globaloria Lab Jain LaneWhen you teach a kid to code, you open them up to a world of opportunity. Especially when that kid comes from a community with a 50% high school drop out rate and unemployment that's three times higher than the rest of the city.

The Globaloria curriculum teaches kids to code their own video games from scratch. Kids choose a social issue in which they are interested and build a game about it using math, research, problem solving, critical thinking and other career-building skills. Read more

GlobaloriaGlobaloria Student NYC Trip, June 2014

This summer 17 Globaloria students will travel to New York City to visit leading universities and technology corporations to learn more about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) careers. In NYC, EAPrep students from various grade levels will unite with other "games for change" creators to explore the positive social impact of games. Read more on our blog and the event webpage.

Help us get these talented programmers to NYC for an opportunity that will influence them for the rest of their lives! All donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. JuanA Message from Dr. Juan Sanchez
Founder, Southwest Key Programs & East Austin College Prep

At Southwest Key, we believe that to change lives, you must invest in the community and that begins with education. East Austin College Prep is all about transforming a community that has long been educationally underserved. We began the transformation by setting the highest standards of excellence for our students and expecting the best results from them. This is why we partnered with the World Wide Workshop to bring Globaloria to all of our students as a core component of our daily curriculum.

Globaloria lets students target those areas where they struggle most while enabling them to tap into creative potential many did not even know they possessed. And it is igniting in them a love of self-learning that can enrich their lives forever.

Globaloria is the kind of educational transformation we need in our schools and we believe it is providing a road map for how to change the game of education in the 21st century. We are proud to be the change we want to see.
